A pioneering American doctor whose ground-breaking treatment of dyslexia has brought hope to millions will visit young sufferers in Leamington whose lives have been transformed with his help next week.
New York-based psychiatrist and neurologist Dr Harold Levinson set up a pilot treatment study in Leamington last May - the first of its kind in Britain - and parents of the 50-strong group of patients have been amazed at the results and are eagerly awaiting his return.
His research links dyslexia to a problem with the inner-ear and his unique treatment has helped sufferers worldwide.
The word of his teachings spread across the Atlantic and the acclaimed doctor was asked to treat a child in Leamington.
While in the town he set up the study co-ordinated by Wcndy Harrison of the Leamington Spa Dyslexia Support Group.
'Youths and children were given his special medication and the results have been as outstanding as they have been in the United States,' said Mrs Harrison.

The mum of a teenager with severe dyslexia being treated as part of the study has seen a visit dramatic difference in her child.
'It's a miracle story with outstanding resuIts,' said the mum, who did not wish to be named. 'I want the whole world to know how fantastic it is.'
In the 1970s Dr Levinson first began to realise symptoms were due to simple, signal-scrambling disturbances in the ear.
'From that moment on I dedicated my work to resolving the traditional misconceptions of dyslexia so that countless millions might be relieved and spared untold suffering and be helped to attain the dreams and ambitions that might otherwise never be theirs,' said Dr Levinson.
Dr Levinson will be holding a public talk on his treatment and dyslexia syndrome on Wednesday February 2 at 7.15pm at the Manor House Hotel in Avenue Road.
