CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) – A new study in Clinical Psychology Review by Michael Kofler and Lauren Friedman at the UVA Curry School of Education, says parents are wasting money on popular and expensive computer training programs that fail to help ADHD children with working memory and focus.
According to Dr. Harold Levinson, this is one of several similar studies indicating that computer programs often fail to improve the functioning in ADHD. Perhaps their popularity, despite significant costs, is somewhat due to using them in place of medications which many mistakenly fear as dangerous? In Levinson’s extensive clinical experience, the meds are safe. It’s their improper dosing and management that’s dangerous.

Formerly Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at New York University Medical Center, Dr. Harold Levinson is currently Director of the Levinson Medical Center for Learning Disabilities in Great Neck, Long Island, New York. He is a well known neuropsychiatrist, clinical researcher and author.
